You can visit Mtskheta by taxi, by train or also you can book a guided tour and by Marshrutkas minibus. This bus regularly runs between Tbilisi Didube market to the main street in Mtskheta town. 

Jvari monastery is just 11 km from the town center. There is no public transportation to Jvari, so best option to hire a cab for Jvari Monastery.
